Big changes are coming to the teen book area!!!!  Many of you have already noticed we are moving books around on the teen shelves!   The " Teen New Book" area is now on the short bookshelves to make it easier to find.  Books whose authors' last names begin with A,B, and C are now on both sides of  the tall bookcase to the left of the new books as you are facing the new books display.  Books in the alcove are being moved to create more room on each shelf.

In addition, books are being tagged with stickers to make it easier for you  to find your favorite genre. Sports, science fiction, fantasy, animal story, adventure, classic, steampunk,  and dystopian books are all being labelled as such.   Why not read a type of genre that you have never read before?
We will be posting more about steampunk books in a few weeks, as a classic steampunk book is now a major movie to be released in 2019!!  "Classic book"  means that millions of people have read and enjoyed that book over a period of time because of the book's memorable characters and plot line! For example, "Looking For Alaska" by Indiana author John Green is now considered a classic book!!

Attention Northridge Middle and Northridge High School students!!!

If you attend Northridge Middle School, your teachers will be assigning you specific books to read very soon. The books assigned depend on your grade level and who your English teacher is. There are 5 copies of each assigned book in the teen section for you to check out. The assigned books have a green "M"  sticker at the top of the spines to make them easier to find on the shelves.

If you attend Northridge High School and Ms. Malooley is your English teacher, the books she will be assigning your classes have arrived. Those books are also in the teen section. Some of the books are in the fiction section and some are in the teen 880s  and teen biography section. Please ask  if you need help finding a specific book.  The assigned books have a brown "H" sticker  on the top of each book's spine.

The Teen Department at the Middlebury Community Public Library wishes each and every teen a wonderful holiday and a Happy 2019! We look forward to seeing you in the library, stocking up on books to read for fun over your break!!!
