Burst into spring with a new crop of  teen books for you to read!  The teen department has several new Halo books that you have requested we purchase. Some of the Halo books are graphic novels and some are chapter books, including Book 1 of a Halo trilogy written by well-known science fiction author Greg Bear. Below are just a couple

Another new book is  The Day the Angels Fell  by Shawn Smucker. Both of Mr. Smucker's  parents grew up Amish and  he was raised in Lancaster County, PA. He currently has two published books- The Day the Angels Fell is one of them. Sam is 12 years old the summer of the continuous lightning storms, one of which kills his mother. Sam goes in search of the Tree of Life- a mysterious  and beautifully written book.

Twenty-three people are on a New York City bus when it explodes.  Four, Three, Two, One by Courtney Stevens follows the lives of four teens who survive and return to the scene of the explosion a year later. Realistic fiction.

In " Field Guide To the North American Teenager",   intelligent, sarcastic,  and smart-mouthed Norris, a hockey-playing French-Canadian teen, has to move to Austin, Texas when his mother gets a new job. Norris learned about America from watching TV shows and Hollywood movies. He spends his time cataloging the types of people he meets in Austin while he plots how to return to Canada ASAP. If you like humorous realistic fiction, this is for you!!

Luc is a star player on the football team who manages to single-handedly lose the championship game for his entire team, so the coach orders him to spend his summer taking dance lessons to increase his flexibility and strength. An underwhelmed Luc finds out that Across The Floor  isn't what he expected, especially when he is one of 2 males in the dance class.  (Side note and fun fact for today: In real life, many NFL players take ballet and /or dance  lessons in their off-season. Seriously).

Inheriting a 1968 Firebird convertible is a surprise to Ali. So is the buyer who is offering her  thousands of dollars for the mint-condition sports car.  Ali doesn't know how to drive a stick shift 300 miles to the buyer. In fact, the only person she knows who can drive a stick shift is her ex- boyfriend, Nico. What could be worse than being stuck in a car for days with your ex-boyfriend? Well, plenty of things in The Geography of Lost Things by Jessica Brody.
